Niger and Mali have renewed their commitment to closer cooperation as armed conflict intensifies across the Sahel region. The move underscores efforts by both countries to strengthen regional solidarity amid worsening insecurity.
The pledge followed a 24-hour official visit by Niger’s transitional president, General Abdourahamane Tiani, to Bamako on Tuesday.
During the visit, President Tiani met with his Malian counterpart, Colonel Assimi Goïta, to discuss defense, diplomacy, and development priorities.
Leaders of the two nations say the cooperation agenda aims to bolster joint security efforts and advance regional stability.
