Mali and Guinea have reached a landmark agreement aimed at boosting trade and mobility between the two nations. The decision came after a high-level meeting in Conakry focused on the free movement of people and goods.
Both governments pledged to remove barriers hindering cross-border movement and to better regulate seasonal livestock migration (transhumance), which often sparks tensions in border communities.
In addition, Bamako and Conakry agreed to strengthen joint security cooperation along their shared border, signaling a united front against cross-border threats.
The pact is seen as a step toward deeper regional integration and stronger economic ties between the two West African neighbors.
