Amnesty International has confirmed that recent Malian army drone strikes resulted in civilian casualties in Inadjafatane, a village in Mali’s Timbuktu region. According to Amnesty’s statement released on Tuesday, around ten civilians, including children, lost their lives in drone attacks on October 21. The organization, after contacting local sources, has called on Malian authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the incident.
As of now, Malian government officials have not responded to the report. Ousmane Diallo, a Sahel human rights researcher at Amnesty International, has shared insights into the situation, urging accountability and transparency to address civilian safety in conflict zones.
