Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has emphasized the importance of responsible borrowing across the African continent.
Speaking at the 2025 Annual African Development Bank Conference in Abidjan, he urged leaders to focus on securing loans for projects that can generate their own repayment.
He pointed to Ghana’s recent debt management progress, attributing the success in part to a stronger Cedi, which has eased the country’s repayment pressures.
President Mahama’s message echoed a broader call for financial prudence as African nations seek sustainable paths to development.
