Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has pledged a thorough and transparent investigation into the recent military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including two senior government ministers.
In his first national address since the tragedy, President Mahama assured Ghanaians that no detail would be overlooked in uncovering the cause of the crash. The victims were en route to Obuasi on official duty when their helicopter vanished from radar on August 6.
Among the deceased were Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed. Their sudden deaths have sent shockwaves across the nation.
Preparations are underway for a state burial, as the country mourns the loss of its dedicated public servants.
