Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has called on the international community to support The Gambia in providing reparations for victims of human rights abuses under former leader Yahya Jammeh.
Speaking in Banjul during his first state visit since his inauguration, President Mahama pledged his full support for Gambian President Adama Barrow’s efforts to ensure justice and reparations.
The state visit also focused on strengthening regional security, enhancing peace, and promoting free movement of people and goods across West Africa.
In his remarks before departing, Mahama emphasized the importance of collective efforts to build a just and peaceful region.
