The Senegalese League for Human Rights (LSDH) has condemned the recent deaths of four detainees in prisons across Thiès, Saint-Louis, and Tambacounda between December 2024 and January 2025.
In a statement, the LSDH called for investigations into the circumstances surrounding these deaths, describing the situation as deplorable.
The group urged authorities to prioritize prison reforms, including decongestion and improved detention conditions, to address systemic issues and safeguard human rights.
