Liberia’s judiciary has welcomed its 27th Chief Justice, Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, who has pledged sweeping reforms and a stronger commitment to the rule of law.
The 66-year-old was officially sworn in at the Executive Mansion, taking over from Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh, who retired upon reaching the constitutional age of 70.
In his inaugural address, Chief Justice Gbeisay emphasized the judiciary’s critical role in upholding justice and reaffirmed his dedication to serving the Liberian people with integrity and fairness.
His appointment marks a new chapter for Liberia’s judiciary, with expectations high for reforms to strengthen public trust in the justice system.
