In Liberia, the House of Representatives on Tuesday finally broke a prolonged legislative impasse by electing a new Speaker, bringing clarity to a leadership crisis that lasted over six months.
The conflict began with the controversial ousting of former Speaker Fonati Koffa, a move later ruled unconstitutional. His initial successor, Richard Koon, was also removed after the Supreme Court found his election invalid.
Tuesday’s vote marks a crucial step toward restoring legislative stability in the country.
