In Liberia, a coalition of civil society organizations operating under the umbrella of the Joint Civil Society Anti-corruption Initiative has submitted a petition to the National Anti-corruption Commission.
The petition calls for an investigation into officials of the George Weah administration who were subjected to sanctions by the United States.
The group has urged the Anti-corruption body to collaborate with the United States Treasury Department to obtain evidence for the potential prosecution of individuals such as the former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, and former Port Manager Bill Tweahway.
WADRs Darlington Porkpa in Monrovia provides further details.
