From Nigeria, we turn to Liberia, where the government’s efforts to combat corruption remain under scrutiny.
Liberia scored 28 out of 100 on the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), according to Transparency International. The score reflects only a marginal improvement in the country’s anti-corruption policies and enforcement measures.
The CPI, which assesses perceived levels of public sector corruption, suggests that significant gaps persist in transparency and accountability mechanisms. Civil society groups in Liberia have raised concerns about the effectiveness of current strategies, urging authorities to intensify reforms and strengthen oversight institutions.
