Commercial drivers in Monrovia staged a strike on Monday to protest high traffic fines and a controversial move to shift licensing powers to the Liberia Traffic Management (LTM).

Drivers say rising ticket costs are deepening their financial hardship amid soaring living expenses. Their protest follows similar concerns from Transport Ministry staff about potential job losses.

Over 250 public sector jobs are reportedly at risk as the government outsources key transport services.
