Liberia and the World Bank have launched the Governance Reform and Accountability Transformation (GREAT) Project, a $30 million initiative aimed at improving governance and institutional capacity.
The project will modernize public administration through digital public services, enhance tax revenue collection, and strengthen transparency. Key institutions, including the Liberia Revenue Authority and Anti-Corruption Commission, will benefit from reforms.
Finance Minister Augustain Ngafuan announced that the initiative will also enroll two million Liberians in digital identification under the National Identification Registry by 2030.
