The University of Liberia is under renewed scrutiny after a spike in campus violence pushed the Board of Trustees to reaffirm its ban on student political activities. The decision comes in response to clashes that have disrupted academic life and heightened tensions between students and security personnel.

According to the Board, incidents on September 1 and September 11 led to major disturbances at both the Capitol Hill and Fendall campuses. The administration has been directed to suspend all students involved, pending a full investigation in line with the Student Handbook.

The move has sparked debate, but authorities say the priority is to restore calm and ensure a safe and conducive environment for learning.
