The Civil Service Agency of Liberia has blocked the salaries of 216 suspended officials from key ministries and agencies over their failure to declare assets.

President Joseph Boakai had earlier suspended 457 officials for one month without pay as part of his administration’s crackdown on non-compliance with asset declaration laws.

CSA Director General Josiah Joekai stated that this enforcement measure could save the government over $104,000.
