Liberia’s Ministry of Justice has asked Criminal Court “A” to relocate the Capitol Building arson trial from Montserrado County, citing concerns over jury impartiality.
In a motion filed before Resident Judge Roosevelt Willie, prosecutors argue that intense media coverage, public pressure, and alleged attempts to influence jurors could undermine a fair trial.
Former House Speaker Fonati Koffa is among several defendants facing charges including arson and attempted murder.
The court is expected to determine whether the case should be moved to guarantee an impartial hearing.
