Liberia’s House of Representatives has ratified the ECOWAS Treaty on the Dakar-Abidjan Corridor, marking a key step toward regional integration and improved infrastructure.
The decision followed a detailed review by the Joint Committee on Transport and Judiciary, which highlighted the treaty’s promise to boost interconnectivity and economic cooperation among member states.
Lawmakers also pointed to its potential in curbing drug trafficking and strengthening public health systems along the corridor.
Representative James Kolleh led the successful motion, framing it as a strategic move for Liberia’s development within the subregion.
