Protests erupted in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia, on Wednesday as citizens voiced growing frustration over alleged corruption and poor governance under President Joseph Boakai’s administration.
The demonstration was organised by the pressure group Solidarity and Trust For a New Day (STAND), whose members rallied to demand improved living conditions and greater accountability from the government.
Protesters accused authorities of mismanaging public funds and failing to address economic hardships facing ordinary Liberians, calling for transparency and responsible leadership.
Tensions rose when demonstrators were denied access to the Executive Mansion, a move that further fueled criticism of the government’s handling of dissent and public concerns.
