President Joseph Boakai has granted executive clemency to 72 inmates across Liberia, including foreign nationals, in a move aligned with constitutional provisions.
According to a statement from the Executive Mansion, the clemency took effect on December 24, 2025, as part of the president’s discretionary powers.
President Boakai noted that the decision reflects his administration’s commitment to balancing justice with compassion, especially during the festive season.
He expressed hope that the gesture would offer beneficiaries an opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
