In Liberia, the National Police is facing mounting public scrutiny following the sudden resignation of its first female spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Cecelia Clark.
In a statement submitted on Wednesday, Clark cited internal conflict, administrative challenges, and alleged discriminatory practices within the ranks of the Police force as reasons for her decision to step down.
Her resignation has sparked widespread concern, with women’s rights advocates, media personalities, and other citizens calling for transparency and accountability over the circumstances surrounding her departure.
WADR’s Monrovia Correspondent Abraham Parker reports that growing voices across the country are demanding an independent investigation into the matter, as debate intensifies over internal governance within Liberia’s security institutions.
