Liberia will commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended its devastating civil war. The accord, signed on August 18, 2003, in Accra, Ghana, brought an end to years of conflict and paved the way for democratic governance.
The landmark agreement was brokered with the support of the international community and signed by warring factions, political parties, and civil society groups.
To mark the anniversary, the Office for the Establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court is hosting a lecture series on peace education and transitional justice.
