Liberia’s Civil Service Agency (CSA) has warned lecturers at rural universities and colleges to return to work as a nationwide “go-slow” strike intensifies.

The protest, led by the Rural Universities and Colleges Faculty Association, highlights frustrations over poor living conditions, salary disparities, and inadequate housing for lecturers. Faculty members also cite limited transportation support and insufficient budget allocations as key grievances.

The government has threatened sanctions if lecturers fail to end the strike, but union leaders say they are determined to continue until their demands are addressed.

As the standoff drags on, concerns are rising over the potential disruption of academic activities across the country.
