Liberia: LDEA Destroys $40M Worth Of Seized Drugs, 178 Charged

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has destroyed over 40 million Liberian dollars’ worth of narcotics, equivalent to about USD $257,000.

The destruction, carried out on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, involved drugs confiscated during enforcement operations between September and October across all fifteen subdivisions.

According to the LDEA, 178 individuals suspected of drug trafficking and dealing are currently facing prosecution.

Officials say the exercise is part of ongoing national efforts to curb illicit drug trade and strengthen law enforcement across Liberia.
