For the first time in years, Liberia has decentralized its passport services by opening issuance hubs in Bong and Grand Gedeh counties. This move is part of a broader National Passport Decentralization Program.
Led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the initiative seeks to reduce pressure on the central passport bureau in Monrovia and improve access for citizens in remote areas.
The two new hubs mark a major step toward enhancing public service delivery. Government officials say more regional centers will follow.
The effort aligns with Liberia’s wider governance reform agenda, aiming to bring services closer to the people and promote administrative efficiency.
