Liberia has marked a major milestone in its maritime sector with the launch of nighttime vessel navigation and new port equipment at the Freeport of Monrovia.
The National Port Authority, in collaboration with APM Terminals and the Liberia Maritime Authority, unveiled the upgrades, which will now allow vessels to operate beyond daylight hours.
The move is expected to cut down vessel wait times, reduce shipping costs, and improve Liberia’s competitiveness in international trade.
Authorities say this initiative signals a turning point in efforts to modernize port operations and unlock the country’s maritime potential.
