Liberia has taken a major step toward national unity with the launch of a National Healing and Reconciliation Program over the weekend.
The event gathered survivors of past civil conflicts, the Ebola epidemic, and the COVID-19 pandemic—alongside local leaders, international partners, and civil society—to reflect, heal, and foster collective peace.
Held in a spirit of national renewal, the program aims to confront historical scars and promote harmony amid ongoing challenges.
Government officials say this initiative will be followed by a series of community-based engagements to deepen the reconciliation process.
