Monrovia is hosting the 8th Association of African Maritime Administrations (AAMA) conference, bringing together more than 200 delegates from over 40 African countries and international partners.
The gathering, which began Tuesday and runs until Friday, October 3, 2025, focuses on “Safeguarding Our Ocean, Promoting Decarbonization in Shipping and Exploring Africa’s Blue Economy Potential.”
Participants are expected to discuss strategies for sustainable ocean management, green shipping practices, and opportunities within Africa’s emerging blue economy.
Organizers say the conference reflects Africa’s growing commitment to maritime sustainability and regional cooperation.
