In Liberia, the pervasive issue of drug addiction has come to the forefront, with new statistics from the country’s Drug Enforcement Agency revealing that approximately one million out of the five million population are addicted to illicit drugs.
Despite the end of the 14-year civil war in 2003, the consumption of illicit drugs has remained widespread, with previous administrations facing challenges in effectively combating drug addiction.
