In response to rising cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Liberia, the Ministry of Gender and the Independent National Commission on Human Rights have pledged to promote awareness and protect human rights, particularly for SGBV victims.

This commitment was made during an event in Monrovia marking International Human Rights Day, under the national theme “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now.”

Officials emphasized the urgency of addressing SGBV through sustained advocacy, stronger legal frameworks, and community engagement to ensure a safer and more equitable society for all Liberians.
