Liberia’s 178th Flag Day Orator, Cllr. Jallah Barbu, has urged the government to reconsider its suspension of traditional schools nationwide.

The ban, announced in March 2025, halts all Poro and Sande society activities until January 2026, sparking criticism from traditional leaders.

Cllr. Barbu called for dialogue to balance cultural preservation with public concerns over traditional practices.
