In Liberia, Deputy Youth Minister J. Bryant McGill has stepped aside following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor.

The Liberia National Police opened an investigation after a complaint was filed by the alleged victim’s father, Christopher Davis, who also works at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Officials say McGill’s leave of absence is to ensure transparency and prevent any interference as the inquiry moves forward.
