The Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL) has launched its 2024 State of Corruption Report (SCORE), shedding light on both gains and gaps in the country’s anti-corruption fight. The report was officially unveiled on Wednesday in Monrovia.

SCORE 2024 outlines areas where progress has been made, such as stronger civic engagement and increased public awareness of corruption. However, it also identifies major challenges, including weak enforcement of laws and limited political will.

CENTAL emphasized that while some institutions have shown commitment to transparency, governance challenges continue to hinder broader reform. Corruption, it warned, remains a serious threat to Liberia’s democratic and development goals.

The report calls for sustained citizen participation, stronger accountability mechanisms, and bold leadership to confront entrenched corruption and promote a more transparent future for all Liberians.
