In Liberia, the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has sharply criticized the ruling Unity Party, accusing it of political witch-hunt, corruption, and widespread mismanagement of national resources.
In a weekend statement, the CDC condemned what it described as a “distractive and deceptive tactic” by the government to conceal what it calls major governance failures.
Tensions between the two parties have remained high since the 2023 elections, with frequent confrontations among lawmakers deepening political divisions in the country.
