Liberian President Joseph Boakai has submitted the Draft National Budget for Fiscal Year 2026 to the National Legislature, proposing total spending of 1.2 billion dollars. The document was delivered to House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon by Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan, in line with the Public Financial Management Act.
According to the submission, domestic revenue will fund 94% of the budget, including tax and non-tax income, a one-time Mittal bonus, and contingent revenue streams.
The government plans to direct about 280 million dollars toward priority sectors such as agriculture, road infrastructure, education, sanitation, and tourism.
