In Liberia, the Ministry of Education and the National Police Authority have placed an immediate ban on street parades by student groups during school gala anniversaries.
Announced jointly by Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah and Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman in Monrovia, the decision is aimed at enforcing safety regulations and curbing disruptions linked to student gatherings in public spaces.
Authorities say the move will help maintain public order and protect students during school events. Institutions are now expected to celebrate academic milestones within school premises.
The ban has sparked mixed reactions, with some welcoming the decision while others call for safer, regulated alternatives rather than an outright prohibition.
