The Liberian government has approved a three-day protest in Monrovia, set for July 15–17, led by civic group Solidarity of Trust For A New Day (STAND). The decision follows a weekend meeting between STAND, the Ministry of Justice, and other stakeholders.
STAND, along with partners such as We The People Movement, the Progressive Students Alliance, and the CDC Youth League, plans to protest governance issues and alleged injustices under President Joseph Boakai’s administration.
The approval comes amid reports of planned counter-gatherings, raising concerns about possible confrontations.
Authorities have urged all groups to maintain peace and respect the rule of law throughout the demonstrations.
