Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
This is the call for this year’s theme: unlocking equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a future where no one is left behind.
More importantly, central to this vision is empowering the next generation—youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls—as catalysts for lasting change.
This is what we will be discussing on this special edition of Citizens’ Hours with my guests Vickjune Excel Wutoh, Founder of the Initiative for Youth Empowerment and Economic Development (IYEED) in Liberia, Bimbola Aladejare-Salako, Executive Director of The New Generation Girls and Women Development Initiative (NIGAWD) in Nigeria, and Fatima Jarju, a women’s rights activist in the Gambia.
