Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to commence a nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise starting in August.
The initiative forms part of early preparations for the 2027 general elections and aims to update the voters’ register, including enrolling first-time voters and those who have changed residence.
Professor Sam Egwu, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner for Benue State, disclosed the development, urging eligible citizens to take part in the process.
INEC says the exercise will enhance voter access and ensure broader participation in the upcoming polls.
