In Guinea, independent candidates have denounced their exclusion from the upcoming elections under the country’s new electoral code.
They allege that municipal mayors are refusing to provide the required sponsorships, instead favoring transitional leader General Mamadi Doumbouya. The candidates argue that this practice undermines fairness and transparency in the electoral process.
On Tuesday, they filed a petition with the Supreme Court, calling for the immediate suspension of the sponsorship process pending review.
