This week’s edition is on Support for Military Transitions and Youth Participation in the Fight Against Terrorism.

In Niger, youth involvement in the fight against terrorism is primarily centred on gathering intelligence. However, many young people hesitate to take direct action due to fears for their safety.

While in Burkina Faso, several support associations were created following Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s coup d’état in 2023.

Called the Wayiyan, these young people, for the most part, are committed to defending and protecting the military regime.
But what is their commitment to the fight against terrorism, which is plaguing the country?
