These pillars attack every stage of a security threat, from stopping people from becoming terrorists through to mitigating the impact of terrorist attacks.
But have countries of the Sahel such as Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger as well as Nigeria all battling violent extremism fully utilized this concept of countering insurgency? And If they have, what are some of the existing challenges in terms of human and material resources?
