The Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Dakar and the Senegalese Red Cross (SRC), in collaboration with the families of missing persons, will commemorate the International Day of the Disappeared on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Thiaroye-sur-mer Town Hall.

The issue of missing persons is a painful ordeal affecting many families. They share not only the same difficulties but also the hopes of one day finding their loved ones. Due to armed conflicts, violence, natural disasters, and migration, hundreds of thousands of people are missing worldwide.

To remember their loved ones and prevent them from being forgotten, the Associations of Families of Missing Migrants, supported by the ICRC and the Senegalese Red Cross, will once again celebrate the International Day of the Disappeared, alongside the international community.

In Senegal, the ICRC Regional Delegation and the Senegalese Red Cross continue to support families of missing migrants, addressing their need to know the fate of their missing loved ones
