The ICC Deputy Prosecutor has wrapped up a visit to Conakry, focusing on justice for victims of Guinea’s 2009 stadium massacre.
Mame Mandiaye Niang met with transitional authorities and victims’ groups to discuss compensation and the controversial pardon of ex-junta leader Moussa Dadis Camara.
He said the Guinean authorities assured him that the appeal trial and the next phase of proceedings would proceed soon.
The visit aimed to reinforce international oversight and victims’ rights in the long-delayed judicial process.
