Several neighbourhoods in the capital, Bamako, have been inundated, with central regions of the country being the hardest hit.

In the usually dry northern region, the city of Gao has also been experiencing floods over the past few days, following heavy rains late last week.

The flooding has caused significant material damage and displaced many residents.
