In Ghana, a five-member committee probing three petitions against Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo will begin hearings on Thursday, May 15.
The committee, chaired by Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, was set up following a prima facie determination by President Mahama, in line with Article 146(6) of the Constitution.
The Chief Justice was suspended on April 22 over allegations of misconduct and incompetence. Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie is acting in her stead.
The outcome of the hearings could significantly impact Ghana’s judicial and political landscape.
