Reactions have emerged following the sentencing of Moussa Dadis Camara to 20 years in prison for crimes against humanity. His conviction is a verdict of the September 28, 2009 trial.
Marcel Guilavogui was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment, and Claude Pivi, who was then the Minister of Presidential Security, received a life sentence, among others.
The decision of the criminal court in Dixinn has not been unanimously received by the victims. While some welcome the verdict, calling it historic, others believe that the court was very lenient towards the accused. They have called on the Guinean authorities to ensure their safety and to see that they are compensated.
Two of the victims, Mamadou Kaly Diallo and Fatoumata Barry, spoke to our Conakry Correspondent, Thierno Alpha Ibrahima Baldé.
