Talks between the Guinean government and the trade union movement hit an impasse on Monday.
Following an entire day of discussions, the union representatives opted to terminate the negotiations and insisted on the release of the Secretary General of the Guinean Press Professionals’ Union before recommencing talks.
Unless action is taken before the expiration of the strike notice, they have issued a threat of initiating a comprehensive and unrestricted strike across both public and private sectors starting from February 17, 2024.
