In Guinea, the Constitutional Court has released the provisional list of candidates qualified for the December 28, 2025 presidential election. Out of the 51 applications submitted, only nine were validated by the court, including that of Transitional President General Mamady Doumbouya.
The announcement, made over the weekend, marks a significant milestone in Guinea’s ongoing political transition following the 2021 coup that removed former president Alpha Condé.
The court’s decision now sets the stage for a tightly contested election, as the approved candidates begin preparations for the upcoming campaign.
