Biometric registration kits arrived in Conakry on Tuesday as Guinea prepares for upcoming elections. Prime Minister and government officials were present to receive the materials.
The government says the kits will speed up the return to constitutional order, but the opposition remains skeptical, accusing authorities of failing to follow the election roadmap.
Opposition leaders are also demanding answers on why the PN-RAVEC system was scrapped in favor of biometric registration.
Tensions continue as the country moves toward a long-awaited vote.
