In Guinea, Transitional President Mamadi Doumbouya has officially signed a decree confirming the presidential election for December 28, 2025. The announcement was made on Thursday, November 13, signaling the next step in the country’s political transition.

The decree specifies that polling stations nationwide will open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., ensuring citizens have ample opportunity to cast their votes. This move comes amid preparations for a peaceful and transparent electoral process.

President Doumbouya’s announcement follows months of political organization and candidate validation by the Constitutional Court. It marks an important milestone in Guinea’s ongoing efforts to restore democratic governance after the 2021 coup.

The government has urged all Guineans to participate responsibly and encouraged security measures to ensure a safe voting environment across the country. Observers see the election as a crucial test for Guinea’s political stability and institutional credibility.
